About Us
"I started my company in 2008 in New York City. I always knew I was a creative person and especially enjoyed fixing up old things and building furniture. I also like to be involved in local communities. I aim to be a personal resource for people who care about and value their furniture. My services include furniture refinishing and restoration, cabinet touch-ups, custom furniture and residential painting. I strive to work closely with customers. This includes updating them on the progress of my work and getting a clear idea of how they want their furniture to look. Most of the work is done by me, but I do have help available for larger projects."

Why should I call Cityshades?
I'm guessing that unless you are reading this from a hut in the Amazon rainforest or a tent in the Sahara that you probably have furniture. Furniture, in particular wood, undergoes changes as it ages. Parts lose their strength, finishes fade, moisture warps the wood and there can be damage from any number of sources like pets, kids, movers, etc. Luckily there are many fixes for these problems. While not every solution can bring the furniture back to the way it looked when it was brought home, often you can avoid throwing out what you have and buying something new.
I also build many types of furniture. If there is some kind of furniture that you can't find in the store or online, please contact me. I can both design and build it for you. It is very possible, especially for those in apartments that the furniture in the store does not fit the dimensions of your apartment or business. I'll build to your specficiations, including dimensions, color, style, etc. Although I do occasionally work with helpers, the vast majority of my work is done entirely by me.
I am not running a very large business. When you call my phone number, you'll speak to me. I'll be at the estimate and will write it up as well. Specifications for each job will be written on the estimate. You'll know what I'm doing before the job starts. Unless the work is very time-consuming, you don't pay me until the job is complete.
