About Us

 

Making Brooklyn Home is brought to you by Brooklyn Home Management.

Brooklyn Home Management was created in 2011 to offer neighbor-centric property management services to small and mid-size buildings.  We are committed to service, affordability and community.

We live in the communities we serve and treat our clients like friends and neighbors.  We believe in improving the Brooklyn experience for all, including the less fortunate.

A portion of all revenue goes to supporting community programs and projects in Brooklyn.

Services

 

Operations and Maintenance:

  • Refuse and recycling removal
  • Snow removal
  • Regular cleaning of common areas
  • Provide regular property inspections and reports
  • Provide recommendations to increase a building’s energy efficiency
  • Recommend steps and plans for preventative maintenance
  • Purchase, deliver, and document expenditures for required supplies and materials
  • Provide service for minor repairs to properties without superintendants
  • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions for all maintenance-related issues
  • Provide necessary access to vendors, contractors, and other repair/service personnel

Financial Management:

  • Collect all common charges, maintenance, assessments, and fines
  • Pay all bills for the association in a timely manner
  • Prepare and submit annual budget for Board review and acceptance
  • Monitor and document property income and expenses
  • Coordinate with the property’s accountant for annual audits, taxes, and city filings
  • Generate simple, informative, monthly reports
  • Identify creative ways to eliminate waste and generate extra revenue

Business Administration:

  • Assist Board with obtaining insurance for property and manage documentation
  • Obtain insurance certificates from vendors and contractors as needed
  • Procure vendor contracts and monitor performance
  • Review contractor agreements for property
  • Secure bids for repair/replacement work
  • Provide recommendations for best value/cost to the board
  • Attend Board meetings and provide agenda-relevant information
  • Follow and remain apprised of local laws, municipal codes, and regulations
  • Inform the Board of compliance issues and provide recommendations
  • Manage annual inspections and filings as needed for compliance (elevator, boiler, fire, etc.)
  • Enforce “House Rules” at the direction of the Board
  • Resolve issues with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) related to water and sewer charges
  • Share best practices of well managed properties to ensure maximum efficiencies
  • Act in the best interest and welfare of the property, its owners, and tenants
